Say More… is CCA’s new Thought Leadership Series, and it is exactly what it sounds like. Not a webinar. Not a CE session. A conversation. The kind of conversation that makes you think differently about the work you do, the people who sit across from you, and the world at large.
Every session features guests whose stories and experiences illuminate something important about the human experience through a clinical lens. The goal is simple: to make us better at what we do by feeling and thinking more deeply about what our clients carry or what is happening in the world around us.

Samuel del Rosario
ABOUT THIS CONVERSATION
Samuel del Rosario is a California attorney, an MFA-trained actor with credits at Berkeley Repertory Theatre, Shotgun Players, and HBO, and an emerging playwright whose work explores identity, belonging, and resilience. He is also someone who came out to his father and has spent years living with what came after.
Samuel wrote a deeply personal narrative about that experience. It begins on a significant day when his father was visiting San Francisco, near the Golden Gate Bridge, and it travels through years of silence, a month-long walk across the Camino de Santiago in Spain, and ultimately to a hard-won understanding of what it means to love yourself when a parent cannot.
Kenneth Edwards, PhD, LPCC, CCA Executive Director will sit with Samuel and explore his story through the eyes of a mental health clinician. Not as a case study. As a human being. The conversation centers around the questions that we ask ourselves in the therapy room: about conditional love, about the patterns we inherit, about the moments that break us open and the ones that put us back together.
“Your rejection doesn’t just hurt in the moment. It echoes through every relationship your son will ever have. It shapes the way he sees himself, the way he loves, the choices he makes.”
— Samuel del Rosario
