CCA is the only organization devoted exclusive to serving the needs of persons engaged in the field of counseling and development in the state of California. Incorporated in 1967, the California Counseling Association, a state branch of the American Counseling Association, is a non profit , tax exempt professional association. It serves its members to advance the field of counseling and development in the broad areas of mental health, career, education and measurement and evaluation. CCA acts as the umbrella organization for 14 divisions and affiliated associations within the profession. CCA backs and supports its members as leaders and innovators in the counseling and development of their clients/counselees through schools. goverment agencies , private and pastoral practice, higher education, community agencies and business and industry.
