The Executive Council of the California Community College Counselors Association has spent the past several months updating the bylaws so that they are consistent with the parent organization, the California Counseling Association (formerly CACD). It is your right and privilege as a member of this organization to ratify these changes by electronic vote.

Mission Statement
|
|
The California Community College Counselors Association is a professional organization whose major goal is to promote counseling excellence in the California community colleges. The objectives of the association are to create a viable network to address the needs, concerns and professional development of community college counselors; offer its members support and assistance about respective counseling services; improve communication and cooperation with other agencies through active participation of its membership and elected representatives; continue to exert influence in developing the California Community College system into the nation's undisputed leader in higher education; and facilitate and advocate proactive planning for the future of counseling.

| Professional. (Voting and eligible to hold office) Credentialed Community College counselors, credentialed Community College student personnel workers, or Community College coordinators of guidance services, those who have a current assignment in Community College Counseling or other Community College guidance activities; those who hold such employment but are on leave for no more than two years for matemity or sabbatical reasons, temporary assignment to other duties, or graduate study in the field; and those who have a Master's Degree in counseling and guidance or a clear Standard Designated Services Credential with Community College specialization. |
