A bill to regulate licensed professional clinical counselors in California became law on January 1, 2010. Passage of this bill was the result of a concerted effort by a broad coalition of individuals and professional associations, including CCA. The Board of Behavioral Sciences has until the end of 2010 to develop rules and regulations that will implement the law.
The Board recently made decisions and clarifications on the following LPCC (Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor) topics:
Timeline regarding answering questions, applications, and expected processing time
Examination for MFTs and LCSWs
Supervised practicum for pre-1996 degree
Supervised experience for grandparenting
Supervised experience for reciprocity
