Program of Professional Development
Identify professional needs.
Provide networking opportunities within and outside the association to help members locate and access resources for meeting their professional needs and goals.
Organize and coordinate programs to develop solutions to problems and challenges facing the counseling profession.
Offer continuing education and activities that help members to stay abreast of the latest trends and advancements in counseling.
Promote ethical standards of conduct for the profession set by the American Counseling Association.
Professional Advocacy
Develop and maintain a high degree of counselor visibility among leaders and organizations in the community.
Communicate to government agencies, such as the California Department of Education, CCA's commitment to counseling and professional development and voice our support for programs that advance that commitment.
Be a strong and consistent advocate of societal responsibility in meeting the educational, occupational, emotional, and cultural needs of our clientele.
Legislative Presence
Develop and support legislation that furthers CCA's short-term and long-term goals.
Organize and facilitate member contact with legislators & sponsors.
Promote member awareness of legislative activity by keeping them apprised of bills under consideration and their final disposition.
